Why BILLERICAY Learner Drivers
Chose Drive School Of Motoring
Nicky Dowling on behalf of Rhiana Hickey, Billericay.
“I would like to thank Colin Lott for his help in the beginning when Rhiana had had such a bad experience, and for giving her the best driving instructor she could have had.
Thanks to Colin Smith who has been an absolute inspiration and motivator to her, kept her going and her spirits up constantly.
I can’t recommend this driving school enough.
Thank you.”
Megan Last, Billericay.
“A wonderful service from start to finish. The start-up process was very professional and outlined exactly what I could expect of Drive School of Motoring, it also laid out exactly what was expected of me as a student.
I was taught by Colin who always remained professional, yet always friendly to make me feel comfortable. Colin demonstrated maximum patience even when I was struggling to get the hang of a manoeuvre or two.
Colin took the time to notice what worked best for me as a learner and taught me in a way I could best understand and benefit from.
I always left our lessons having achieved something and with a clear plan for next my lesson, detailing how I would go forward to achieve more and overcome areas I struggled with.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend any other driving school and thoroughly enjoyed my time with Colin and the Drive School of Motoring, who lead me to passing my test.”
Elleny Brittain.
When choosing a driving instructor, it was important to me that he would be calm and understanding. What also helped my decision to choose Drive School of Motoring was their good 1st time pass rate. Learning to drive was harder than I expected but I found my instructor’s teaching methods easy to understand and very helpful. I would recommend Drive School of Motoring to others as Colin was patient with me even if I didn’t get things at first.
Jasmine Dale-Smith.
The most important reason I chose Drive School of Motoring as my driving school was the level of their success in pass rates and the five -star reviews they have online. It was also important to have a driving school close to where I live.
Whilst learning to drive, there was a lot more attention paid to details than I expected, and this helped me to get the best drive possible.
I would recommend Drive School of Motoring to others as I was able to pass my driving test first time.
Kaiya Dobson.
When looking for a driving school, firstly I was looking for someone with a good local reputation and a high success rate and also a calm and experienced driving instructor. Learning to drive was pretty much what I expected, as the under 17’s driving experience that Drive School of Motoring run gave me a good idea of what to expect. Colin’s teaching methods catered to different learning styles and I found the use of drawings very helpful. I would recommend Drive School of Motoring to others as my instructor was very good and the car was nice.

Where do I start…. I’m so glad I chose to go with Colin, he’s so kind and patient and like the others say, he’s got a good sense of humour, especially putting up with me…
From the very beginning until the end now that I have passed, I have had an amazing experience and been taught to such a good high standard, I’d always recommend Colin.
I can honestly say it’s been great having you Colin. Even the slightest mistakes Colin will ask you to pull over when safe, and just explain it all, and always words things so that you can fully understand. So Thankyou Colin, I’m so glad I choose your school for my driving… I’m giving a personal 10+ star review. Absolutely fantastic, thanks again Colin
Paul Thompson.
When choosing a driving instructor, the most important things I looked for were a fair price and that they were a local driving school. Also, another factor was availability of times to suit me.
I already had road experience through riding a motorcycle, so learning wasn’t new to me, but I found Colin’s instruction was very clear, practical and constructive.
I would recommend Drive School of Motoring to others, as Colin has the time, patience and skills to teach anyone to drive.
I don’t think there are any areas that could be improved, keep up the good work.
Uche Ezeh.
I read the reviews and was attracted by the success rate and money back guarantee so I called Colin to book a block of lessons. Colin was professional from the beginning but also human and laughed at my jokes, which is always a plus. He has a great approach to adapt his teaching to your personal learning style and apply a critical adult-learning approach. This ensured that I was involved in setting my weekly objectives, met my weekly learning outcomes and could reflect on the lessons learning at the end of each session. As an ‘experienced’ driver it was a challenge to let go of my past learning and ‘bad’ habits that I had acquired over the years, but with Colin’s tutoring, dry sense of humor and encouragement I was able to gain the skills and confidence I needed in a good amount of time and pass my practical test first time.

That was an amazing experience, a really useful and memorable one. I have passed the theory test and was looking for an instructor when Colin from Drive School of Motoring was recommended to me by a friend who passed her practical test just days before. And I had never regretted.
Always positive, with a dose of humour, Colin knows how to make you feel comfortable, confident and less stressed being on the road! Everything was explained with patience and on a calmly voice, even if sometimes I was doing something wrong, he could ask to “find a safe and convenient place to stop” and get all the issues sorted.
Every penny I spent on tuition is now turning back through the confidence I have on the road and through a relaxed and pleasant drive. Thank you Colin for helping me to become a confident and safe driver!
Nikkie Livermore.
When looking for a driving school it was important to me to find a driving instructor who was patient and also who was friendly. I got on really well with Colin and found learning easier than I expected, probably because of the simple teaching methods that Colin used which were easy to understand. I have already recommended Colin to others and will continue to do so.
Emily Caswell.
I chose Drive School of Motoring to learn with primarily because they have a good local reputation and it was also important to me to find someone who would be reliable.
Overall, learning to drive was less stressful than I expected it would be and I found Colin’s teaching methods effective, making new things easy to pick up.
I would recommend Drive School of Motoring to others as I found Colin was very patient and overall very professional. There’s really nothing I would change about my learning experience.
Andrew Schrader, Billericay
I first started driving lessons in about 2006! Six different driving instructors, three failed tests, and 18 years later, I finally passed thanks to Pete.
Having more or less given up, I started taking lessons with Pete in February this year after my wife became pregnant and I had a renewed enthusiasm to learn to drive.
He is extremely friendly and approachable and brilliant at putting nervous drivers at their ease. He is thorough, reliable, and patient. Finally, having all but given up hope of ever getting my driving licence, Pete has successfully mentored me through my test, and I’ve only gone and passed.
The only downside is I shall miss our Tuesday morning drives together.
I cannot thank Pete Wright, of Drive School of Motoring, enough.

I would highly recommend Drive School of Motoring and Colin Lott as a driving instructor and tutor for the competitive pricing, professionalism and documented success rate.

Colin always managed to encourage me and motivate me to keep trying when I found driving tasks difficult. If I didn’t get something right, Colin would not let me carry a defeatist mentality and made sure I succeeded in the end.
I always left our lessons having achieved something and with a clear plan for next my lesson, detailing how I would go forward to achieve more and overcome areas I struggled with.
Colin’s car was a dream to drive, completely kitted out with all the trimmings and even had the new car smell. Colin always had physical learning resources such as an IPad to show streetview of the roads we were tackling, a model car to demonstrate manoeuvres and several hand books.
Once allowed to take lessons again after the COVID restrictions were lifted, Colin made sure everything was kept in compliance with COVID Safety, we wore masks every lesson, we hand sanitised before starting and Colin wiped the whole car down with antibacterial wipes before and after my lesson.
Overall, I wouldn’t recommend any other driving school and thoroughly enjoyed my time with Colin and the Drive School of Motoring, who lead me to passing my test. Thank you Colin.”
