Why WICKFORD Learner Drivers
Chose Drive School Of Motoring.

Aiden Thomson, Wickford.
When looking for a driving instructor, I was looking for good quality training at good value for money. I must say that learning with Colin Lott from Drive School of Motoring exceeded my expectations and I found his teaching methods very helpful. He quickly picked up on areas of my driving which needed work and helped me to correct them, usually within the same lesson.
I would recommend Drive School of Motoring as I don’t believe you would find better value anywhere else in the area and, as I passed First Time, with only One driving fault, I couldn’t have wished for a better result than that.

Anthony Gill, Wickford.
When looking for a driving instructor it was important to find someone with a good local reputation. It was also important that they had patience and skill in teaching and flexible times.
Colin’s teaching methods were excellent as he encouraged me to look at and solve problems from different perspectives.
I would definitely recommend Drive School of Motoring as Colin has an exceptional teaching style, it’s been a real eye opener and I really don’t see how my learning experience could have been any better.

Matthew Goddard, Wickford.
When looking for a driving instructor it was important to me to find someone who was recommended by others and, who would teach to a student’s advantages, in a way that was tailored to me.
I found learning to drive much smoother and less difficult than I first thought and found Colin’s teaching methods very effective, Colin knew exactly what worked for me.
I would definitely recommend Drive School of Motoring to others, not only was learning quick but, I enjoyed every moment with Colin. I would honestly change nothing; the entire experience was incredible.

Danielle Knight, Wickford.
When searching for a driving school it was important to find a school that covered the Rettendon area, who would use the Basildon area for test and who came recommended. Learning to drive with Colin went really well and I found his teaching methods to be very good, he was very patient and was good at explaining things to make them easy to understand.

Jake Orton, Wickford.
Learning to drive was quite hard but I did enjoy it and found Colin’s teaching methods very good, he always understood where I was going wrong and was able to sort out any problems with my driving.
I certainly would recommend Colin as he is a really good instructor.

James Sparkes, Wickford.
I chose Colin Lott of Drive School of Motoring as my driving instructor because he was recommended to me. Colin has a good personality and learning with Colin was a lot easier and not nearly as scary as I imagined it was going to be.
I found Colin’s teaching methods very good and very methodical and I certainly would recommend Colin as he was very friendly and extremely informative. There was nothing at all that I would change about my learning experience with Drive School of Motoring.

Lewis Unwin, Wickford.
When Choosing a driving school, it was most important to find someone who was patient and, I was also looking for a local school who could accommodate my times.
Learning to drive was harder than I expected but I found Colin’s teaching methods were excellent. I would recommend Colin to others as he was very friendly and made me feel comfortable.

Lilian Sparkes, Wickford.
It was important for me to find a driving instructor who I could get on with and, who would be patient. Also, it was important that he had a sense of humour, which is what I found in Colin Lott, from Drive School of Motoring. Learning to drive was actually harder than I thought but, I found Colin’s teaching methods were good, with clear instructions and he was very patient. There is nothing I would change about the way my driving lessons were conducted and, I recommended Colin to my brother, who is currently learning with him.

Kelsey Clarke, Wickford.
“I couldn’t have asked for a better driving instructor than Debbie Crocker, from Drive School of Motoring.
Not only did Debbie massively help to improve my confidence, but she helped me to pass my practical driving test on my First try!!
Debbie is a lovely instructor to learn with, as she is very patient and will explain things very clearly.
Thank you so much Debbie, I loved all of our lessons together.”

Ruby Cagehin, Wickford.

Markus Thiele of Wickford.
“I live in Wickford and chose Drive School of Motoring mainly because I needed a larger automatic car as I’m quite tall, and Colin being tall himself gave me confidence that this wouldn’t be an issue.
Initial communication was very good – quick, clear, and specific, which made getting started straightforward.
I had previously tried to get a licence in Germany over a decade ago and had a negative experience, so I was expecting something stressful and a bit unfocused. In reality, it was the opposite – everything felt structured and like steady, consistent progress.
Colin is a great teacher. From the start he understood the challenge of effectively starting over in a different country and adjusting to driving on the other side of the road. He’s always calm and professional – frankly unflappable – and strikes a good balance between encouragement and pointing out where improvements are needed.
Lessons are very well organised. Each one ends with a detailed review and a clear plan for next time, and the following lesson starts by revisiting that. He also regularly pauses to reflect on specific situations and explain them clearly, often using sketches or maps to break things down.
I would absolutely recommend him, especially to anyone preferring a structured, tailored teaching style”.
